Audi allroad manual transmission conversion
Do I need these coolant lines for any reason or can I block them off and run without coolant? Old transmission has the orange glove attached: Thanks in advance!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. You can block them off at the radiator and remove the lines from the car. The lines are for the oil cooler. That is the gearbox oil pump. You don't need those lines since the S4 trans doesn't have the pump. Be sure to block off the oil cooler in the rad. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the replies. Wondering about longevity once the other transmission is installed? Originally Posted by daddywgn.

It's the OEM fluid without the giant markup.
It's absolutely awful in the cold, but it's fine when it's hot. Thinking of switching to a lighter oil for the Synchro's sake. I'd go with Audi GA2 oil. Transmission is smooth as silk. And yes, don't get Redline Originally Posted by julex. Not that it would hurt to block off the cooler lines at the rad it isn't really necessary. Link it. Around town it sucks.

This has been my ongoing project over the last few months, I'm currently driving the car, it's an absolute dream! Enjoy the pictures. The donor car. The project car, audi allroad 2. And it begins Made sweet shop chair from Passat seat Modified front cross member from Passat, notice the front stabilizer mount.
Now the front cross member with added Passat radiator mounts. Clean donor. Engine's in. Cruising speed in 6th with the euro gearbox. Great work! Anything that you would do differently if you had to do it again? Awesome project, great job. How about a video!? Very nice and thanks very much for sharing! That's my dream car right there. How did you handle the AC lines and air suspension?
Could you have used any stock exhaust components instead of all that fab work? Scott02 Veteran Member. Damn, I've been beaten! Mine still looks like your "clean donor" pic Please be sure to report back mpg figures, as that's the reason for doing all this work, after all.
Passat engine bolts up easily to Audi trans? Yeah, I believe the O1E transmissions will bolt up to the vw 4 Cyl diesels. It's just a matter of getting a transmission with proper gearing ratio's. The transmission I used is from a 1. I had to swap out the original audi Allroad transmission cv flanges into this transmission, and replace my rear differential with one that had the same final drive as my FTF transmission Was it something the Audi needed?
