Type 'tracert' followed by a space and the domain name or IP address for example: tracert example. Press the Enter key to run the command. To use the traceroute command with computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system Vista, 7 : Open your control panel on your local computer. Click Programs. Click on 'Start' and then 'Run'. In the box type 'cmd' without the quotes and click OK. At the command prompt that pops up in the black box type tracert domain. It may take a few seconds but will give a traceroute from your computer to the destination you typed in. To copy the results, right click on the window and choose 'Select All'.
